Question: After You resurrected, why did You stay for 40 days?

God’s answer:

I brought forth My son.

Meaning: According to the law, as given by God to the Israelites, when a woman bears a son, she goes through a 40 day purification period, during which she cannot touch anything that is hallowed. After 40 days, she then goes to the temple and offers a lamb or two turtledoves/pigeons. This is what the Presentation of Jesus was.

When Jesus rose from the dead, He returned to a new life (victory over death). God, who is Jesus, is then like a mother who has brought forth a new life to the world (a son). So, like a mother who goes through 40-day purification, God, who is Jesus, also had to go through the purification period. After which, He offered a lamb - Himself, during the ascension

The number forty (40), it would seem, is the number for purification (forty days of flood, forty days in the desert (Israelites). Forty days of fasting by Jesus, forty days when Moses went to the mountain and 40 days of purification for mothers who bear a son.

Personal reflection: The resurrection of Jesus from the dead was not just to show another fantastic miracle, but was an essential event as part of God’s plan for our salvation.

In the next Chapter, you will learn that Mother Mary did not have to be reborn because she never sinned. Although Jesus also never sinned, He took in the sins of the world so He can defeat it. It can then be inferred that the resurrection of Jesus from the dead is His rebirth which had to take place so we too can be reborn as the holy children of God.

Just as when we are reborn we are restored to the fullness of our being as the children of God, when Jesus resurrected from the dead, He was restored to His fullness as God. Why do I say this?

  1. In the sculpture about the 40 days, when God said “I brought forth My son”, He is both the mother and the son. Thus, the resurrected Jesus is no longer born of Mother Mary, but one who is purely God (God being the Mother and the Father)

  2. In the sculpture He gave in reply to my question on when Mother Mary knew that He was God, Jesus said He revealed to Mother Mary that He (Jesus) is God when He appeared before her.

Note that the figure is
God (El) the Holy Spirit.

I Am her risen Lord.
